Vonage is a great VOIP-based phone system that is available for both business and residential users, aiming to help improve the quality of their calling whilst simultaneously saving them money. Many of our readers may have heard about Vonage before – the service has undergone a bit of a transformation recently and has been heavily advertised online and on public transport – and with this marketing push comes a range of new packages and plans to suit every type of user. Although this service does provide great quality calling features, if you’re looking for a complex virtual PBX system for your business, Vonage is not the provider for you – check out one of our other reviewed providers, such as Ring Central of VirtualPBX for more information on those types of services.
Setting up Vonage couldn’t be easier. Users sign up online, choose from one of the many different calling plans and packages (which vary according to cost, inclusive minutes and the features included) and complete their payment details. Vonage sends a Vonage ‘box’ in the post into which regular phones can be plugged (the service can also be used through a ‘Softphone’, that is, by just using a software package on a computer) and you’re ready to go. It’s so easy and of such good quality that 97% of Vonage users would recommend the service to their friends and family – high praise indeed!
A wide range of features are on offer with Vonage, all of which help make the service more user-friendly and improve the experience of all users. We particularly liked the excellent visual voicemail at Vonage, which is reminiscent of the voicemail functions that are now found on high-end smartphones, making it easy to manage and deal with incoming messages. Customers can also manage calls better using Call Waiting and Call Forwarding, and can opt to ‘add on’ additional features to their package as required, including a fax line, additional phone lines, virtual numbers and more.
Vonage is available to users in the USA, UK and Canada and offers customers a simple, easy to use service that also helps them save money. Whilst this won’t help you set up a full virtual PBX system for your business complete with auto-assistant and menu options, for small scale enterprise and home use, Vonage is a great choice. Signing up couldn’t be easier and with a 30-day money back guarantee and, currently, a $100 Restaurant.com gift certificate as a golden-hello for signing up, you don’t have anything to lose! Give Vonage a try today!
